Catwalk Confidence – Athleta, New York City, NY

The foundation of Girlnetic is made up of WOMEN JUST LIKE YOU who volunteer their time, skills, and joy for fitness, sports, and adventure to power Girlnetic. Leading by example, these women supplement their active lifestyle with Girlnetic by using it as a platform to inspire and encourage their peers to pursue a health and fitness journey towards a well-balanced, happy (and adventurous!) life. You don’t have to be an expert–you just have to be passionate about this stuff!

As a Contributor–also referred to as a Grrlsquad member–there are many ways to get involved, although you are not obligated to take on all of these responsibilities. While we will always offer opportunities to participate to the whole Grrlsquad, you can pick and choose what you want to do when your time allows it, as long as you are helping others engage with Girlnetic.

Content Creation: The majority of the Grrlsquad chooses to contribute to Girlnetic by creating content. Primarily, this means writing stories that we can publish on this website. This also means producing videos, taking awesome action shots, designing infographics–really, any type of educational and inspirational material that will help make a valuable resource to women interested in fitness, sports, and adventure. And don’t worry–you will always get credit for the work that you do!

Directory Maintenance: You can also help build up the Directory section of, another useful resource we provide. How you do this is by suggesting businesses or events relevant to Girlnetic and currently not listed on the website. You can also leave ratings and reviews for businesses or events already listed on here.

Community Engagement: Start and engage in discussions on Girlneticsphere, our online support community. This mean posting, liking, commenting, and sharing with other members of the community for a few minutes of your day when you are free. Through your virtual actions and words of wisdom, you can inspire women to make life-changing health and fitness decisions that can have a positive impact in their lives. Or at the least, put a smile on her face. 😀

Event Participation: Participate in local events hosted by Girlnetic or a Girlnetic Partner. Participation requirements vary depending on the event–sometimes you have to help with marketing efforts, sometimes you just have to be there–and will be detailed as each opportunity is announced.

Social Media Promotion: You are encouraged to post anything that you do for Girlnetic on your social media to help promote what we are doing to a broader audience. The woman who has been struggling with her own journey and needs our guidance may just be looking at your profile. By tagging us and using hashtags #Girlnetic (and #Grrlpower if you’re feeling pretty badass), you can help her find this website! This also means you will appear on our social feed throughout the World Wide Web so it’s a great way to promote yourself, too!

Who run the world? #Grrls! – Taste, Albany, NY

Well, for starters, the Girlnetic Grrlswag that you receive at the end of every year (usually around November-December) as a little token of our gratitude for your contributions. Items in the Grrlswag will vary depending on the partnerships we develop throughout the year.

You also get opportunities to work with Girlnetic Partners, both on a local and national level, getting free samples, attending product launches, trying out new fitness programs, participating in editorial photo shoots, and on occasion, getting paid to host events, write stories, or participate in marketing and social media campaigns.

If you’re a health and fitness professional and want to use Girlnetic as platform to promote your products and/or services, you are encouraged to do — as long as you are not a direct competitor, don’t conflict with Girlnetic’s branding and values, and share Girlnetic’s mission.

Furthermore, becoming a Grrlsquad member is a great opportunity to build your skill set, expand your knowledge and interest in the fitness, sports, and adventure industry, network with like-minded women in your area and around the world, and get the encouragement to explore and get involved in your community doing something you love to do!

But nothing tops the satisfaction you get from helping women who rely on Girlnetic to find inspiration to pursue their own health and fitness journey, achieve their own health and fitness goals, and have as much fun as you do with a healthy and active lifestyle.

In addition, your contributions help fulfill our mission to do our part to make the world a better place because proceeds from these efforts benefit local charitable organizations and causes that educate, empower, provide support and advocate for girls and women. As a Grrlsquad member, you help improve the lives of many girls and women! If you are the right candidate for this program, this reason alone should be enough to convince you that being a Contributor is well worth it!
