The Superpowers of Superfood Spirulina Maxima

Around this time of the year with summertime just a few weeks away, beach bums (like myself) are going even harder at the gym or studio or wherever they spend their time shedding and shredding, so that they can confidently rock their hard-earned bodies in scantily-clad outfits. But you know what they say, you can’t out-exercise a bad diet.

So, to supplement all the hard work I put in as I gear up for beach season, I incorporated Spirulina into my daily health regimen. It’s probably not the most appetizing thing I ever laid my eyes on or allowed to touch my lips, the smell and taste takes some getting used to when consumed by itself, but when I heard the benefits of this dietary supplement, my tastebuds adjusted.

You see, Spirulina is a blue-green algae that can produce energy from sunlight through the process which we all learned in grade school called photosynthesis. It was an important source of nutrients for the Aztecs back in the day, and was made popular again by NASA when they proposed it to be one of the primary foods grown during long-term space missions.

Why? Because it’s a good source of protein, is high in nutrients, has powerful antioxidants, can help lower cholesterol, can lower blood pressure, and can improve muscle strength and endurance.. to name a few. It’s pretty much a food source with nutritional superpowers so that if you end up shipwrecked in a deserted island with nothing but a boatload of Spirulina, you’ll increase your chances of survival.

Spiral Spring Spirulina Maxima,

But Spiral Spring has taken it to another level by producing Spirulina Maxima, “the most nutritious and concentrated natural supplement”, making it one of the healthiest foods on the planet. So yes, this is Spirulina tenfold, which means it is stronger and more potent than the typical Spirulina produced by other vendors, making it the key ingredient to my post-workout nourishment. Because if I’m going to go harder, I need the right nutrition to allow me to do that.

You can mix it with water, milk or yogurt, but I throw in some pineapple or mango and mint with ice to make a thirst-quenching smoothie. And after only two weeks of doing this, I feel more energized that I can actually last longer during  fitness sessions without burning out. I can only imagine how good my body will feel after a month when I finish the whole package!

But don’t take my word for it. And don’t even let historical or scientific proof to sway you. Try it out for yourself and share your experience by commenting below.
