Yoga Reaches Out does exactly that; create opportunities for yogis to make a difference in their community. Their mission is simple: to raise funds and awareness for organizations that impact the health, education and well-being of children.
By holding a benefit class, becoming a sponsor, starting a local chapter, or joining a planning committee, yogis support the efforts of local cause organizations such as Boston Children’s Hospital, Horizons For Homeless Children, and Children’s Tumor Foundation to name a few, alleviating the hardship many of the children these organizations serve face and allowing them to live normal childhood.
Melissa Leach, Certified Baptiste Instructor, Ambassador for Yoga Across America and Director of the Albany Chapter brought Yoga Reaches Out to Albany out of service. She explained, “The intention was to create [an] event that would unite the yoga community by bringing people together on one day at one location to practice yoga together to raise money to benefit the Ronald McDonald House, Baptiste Foundation and Africa Yoga Project. We are excited to be looking to do our second YRO event in early 2017!”
